The Power of Thought

It occurred to me today that it is possible to alleviate pain by changing your thoughts and beliefs. Earlier, I was feeling a sense of dread knowing that my period is around the corner. I have been suffering from endometriosis and I have been traumatized from all the pain. I felt that diet and exercise did not always work and the pain worsens before there is an earthquake close by. I have been having horrible anxiety from it. I was thinking about wanting to get a partial hysterectomy and how I have never been under the knife before in all the 30 years of my life. It made me feel depressed and ill inside. I have recently been despising my uterus and willing to blame it for me eventually becoming addicted to pain killers in the future. I have been thinking This thing inside of me has become a monster that needs to be put to death. I want it out. It not only causes me physical pain, but it possesses me too where I can be difficult to be around. Why continue to put up with something that causes me to suffer unduly? Why? It is so unfair. I would then sink into self-pity, making myself into a victim, feeling defeated and helpless. Today, I realize that there is a way to manage this without eventually having to turn to pain killers or an operation - Through prayer and changing my thoughts. I told myself that the first thing to do is to stop identifying as a sufferer of this disease. It is not who I am. The pain does not define me. I must separate from it. Whatever painful condition you are suffering from, stop identifying with it. I'm not saying to forget that there is something wrong or not seek treatment. Not identifying with the pain and suffering provides relief. You need to empower yourself. If you are in pain right now, know that it will pass. Picture it diminishing. There is actual scientific proof that this is effective. Think about healing and getting better. We all deserve to be happy and healthy.

Trusting your gut

I decided to hold off from posting in my Seismic Connections blog until I actually really feel something change in my body. I will also not post in my Seismic Fox blog unless a major earthquake happens somewhere in the world today as there has been a lot of serious quake activity going on in various places lately. I can always post to Twitter whenever I start having a feeling something is going on out there. I don't see the point in posting to the symptoms blog when there is almost nothing going on around here.
I tend to complain about how bad I feel from the lack of activity lately. I already established the fatigue/low energy, restlessness, and madness associated with the energy being stagnant and backed up for too long. I made that point. It also does not feel good to talk about how bad I feel. From now on, I want to avoid posting in that blog unless I feel something that gets me up on my feet. I even want to try to resist making a post if it is a more faint, subtle symptom that I practically feel all the time.
I realize that I need to trust that instinct or that gut feeling. I tend to fear that I'm going to miss something as there is no telling for sure what could happen next when it comes to this type of phenomena. This instinctual feeling applies to everything. If you listen to that, it can keep you from making everyday mistakes as well as potentially life-threatening situations. For example, you and someone else whether it be a friend decide to go for a hike in the woods. You come to this trail head and you have a dreadful feeling inside that there may be a bear somewhere off in there.
It is better safe than sorry, so you and your friend decide to leave and do something else like go to a nature park that is safer with enough people around. I admit that I have not always been right on point with this. In fact, I don't feel like I did enough to put it out there that a major earthquake may be imminent somewhere. I have been having a feeling a couple of days in advance that Southern Mexico may be a candidate for the next big quake, but brushed it off thinking that region already had its big one in 2017. It was a magnitude 8. It haunted me all day when it actually happened.
Although I indicated that there may be more dangerous earthquake activity imminent in parts of the world somewhere, I feel like I should have done more and specified. I should have paid thorough attention to the potential impending danger somewhere out there and scope out the potential areas that may go off next. I was more preoccupied with the lack of activity here in Southern California instead. From now on, I am going to practice paying better attention to my gut feelings. This applies strongly to everyone with every area in life. It applies to simple everyday things and it can also save your life as well as others.

Enjoying the silence

One of the challenges I face is how I tend to be impatient and wish for some exciting change to occur. Even though the strain energy from deep in the earth does really affect me and my moods, I admit that I have been unsatisfied and want something I have not experienced before. I moved out here 7 years ago to fulfill this dream of sensing earthquakes before they happen. I knew Southern California was long overdue for a major earthquake, but it still has not budged one bit. I get afraid of being old or middle-aged by the time something big finally happens. That has been my greatest fear.

I have prayed that if it is going to stay like this for much longer, that I move somewhere else more active. I may have been successful in feeling things before these small quakes here and larger events around the world, but I have been needing more of a challenge. I have been wanting to know what to expect when a big one happens and if I will be experiencing a lot more pain. I have been uncertain, not only because I have not experienced a big one in this area, but also because it is not like a fault plans to go off in a full-fledged rupture. They suddenly slip.

Earthquakes initially start off small, but accelerate into large events in a flash, at astonishing speeds(7-10,000 miles per hour). That being said, we all become bored and frustrated with the same old everyday. The monotony can become unbearable after a while. We get afraid that it is going to be this way forever. Thus, it is important to remember the saying: What you resist
persists. Complaining about how there is nothing going on in your life does not improve the situation. It just keeps you stuck in it. One thing to think about is how to not take this for granted. Enjoy the peace while you can because you might miss it.
Whenever things finally change, it will never be the same again. There will be new challenges and strife that come with it. There will likely be a price to pay. For instance, if you
win a million dollars, you will have to work harder to keep up with that much money and worry about it eventually running out. If you finally land your dream career in acting, there will be a lot of pressure involved in that. There will be no rest for the weary. Enjoy this period of peace and quiet while you can. I'm also speaking for myself. It is huge for me. Whenever the activity here and/or everywhere else is completely bound up, I go into it deeply without reacting to or judging the negative emotions associated with it. I feel it burn deep inside of me.
It is okay to not feel happy about the lack of event or excitement. The best thing you could do is to be in the current moment, accepting how you feel without judging it or acting out. By doing that, you are resisting what is which is the now. You are worried about the future and feeling sad about the past. The present is the only place where you can find true happiness. 12 years ago, I was reading these books by spiritual teacher Ekhart Tolle. He teaches you how to be in the present moment and the illusion of time and also how to not be consumed in your thoughts and emotions. I have drifted far away from that over the years. I need to return to that lifestyle.

The Moken People

On December 26, 2004, a magnitude 9.1 earthquake occurred in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Northern Sumatra, Indonesia. The tiny Andaman and Nicobar Islands were in the direct path of the tsunami in which the quake generated. The waves reached as high as 167.3 feet. The death toll went up to 1,897 with 5,600 missing. However, when the relief workers finally made their way ashore, they realized that the death toll was skewed. The indigenous people on the Islands, known as the Mokens all survived the waves of death unscathed.

As the air fell silent as the earth did the opposite, the Mokens knew what was next. They knew that the Laboon, "The wave that eats people" was coming. They were completely aware that a titanic column of Ocean was going to wash over the island, cleansing it of all that was impure and evil. To heed the warning signs, elders told their children all to flee to higher ground. Meanwhile in the city of Port Blair, there were the casualties. As a result of a lack of legacy as well as the geographical layout, the residents were unaware of their impending doom.

Scientists have begun to open up their minds to this. The indigenous people have more to offer than one would imagine. It goes beyond folklore. The mythical beings may not actually be real, but the tell-tale natural cataclysms in which they represent are. A visible occurrence that is indicative of a tsunami is when the beach suddenly expands. The tides suddenly recede to the point where fish are left flopping and gasping for water. There have been incidents of clueless beachgoers seeing that as an opportunity to gather fish. It ended in tragedy.

Connecting to your energies

I want to make it known that this is not hippy-dippy bullshit. I'm a very down-to-earth person, so this is not nonsense. It is very true. Just over 10 years ago, I discovered I had a deep connection with the earth. Before I realized we are really of two elemental energies, I became very rigid and was frequently stuck in these ruts. It took me 7 years to figure it out. In 2010, I took Qigong classes. I learned about chi energy. It has been a long time since I practiced those exercises. I know that I should start learning those again.

You can determine which energies you are by holding your hand above a source such as a rock, crystal, flame, smoldering coals, a plant, a bowl of water, ice, the wind, a vent, a fan, etc. See if you can feel an intense force of energy course through you. Which makes you feel most alive? What do you feel in sync with? You can get yourself to the point of slightly manipulating a small source. It is extremely subtle though. That story about the man who can ignite fires with his chi is likely a myth. It would be dangerous if we had a more significant amount of control over an elemental energy.

I did something with a crystal and a small rock. I held my finger towards it by about an inch and ever so slowly made it touch the tip of my finger with my chi. I don't move my hand at all. I can even make a video to show you that this exists, but I'm not going to show off. I practiced it with a burning candle. I held my hand close to the flame and slightly moved my hand and the flame leaned in the direction of my hand as I slowly moved it around the candle. When I hold both my hands on each side of the flame, the flame either moves more erratically and dribbles or slightly shakes.

The flame is slightly taller and stiller as I hold the palm of my hand well above it. Be careful with this experiment because you could end up burning your hand. I also use that small source of immense heat to warm up my core temperature. People who are connected to water may be able to absorb moisture more quickly and cool down fast(drinking water and other fluids except alcohol is known to cool us down). Perhaps they can place their finger next to a droplet of water and get it to touch their flesh. If they put their hand in an ice chest, ice and droplets could stick and run its way up their fingers. Of course, don't have your hand in the ice for too long. You can also practice that with snow depending on where you are and what time of the year it is.

One who is connected to air can stand near a fan or an open window and have a small waft of air blow around them. They can also have their hands and arms in front of a fan or other source blowing air and can guide it in an intended direction or around them. I imagine they are excellent at deep breathing and blowing at bigger distances, thus perhaps holding their breath the longest. If you figure out where your sources of energy are and practice this and don't see results right away, don't be discouraged. You just have to connect more thoroughly.

Finding out your energies

Earth + Fire
It does not take a years-long journey to determine with 2 elements you connect to the strongest. Think of a natural force that gives you an intense energetic charge. What excites you? What is out there that you find yourself particularly sensitive to? Most surfers for example get their energetic charge from the water, especially powerful waves churning up in the ocean, propagating towards the shore. For those who find that they have a deep connection to water, they can then determine whether their other energy source is air or earth. If it is air, the individual is excited and energized by weather events and is usually fond of snow. However, there are those who prefer warm weather and a breeze by the seaside gives them a great sense of joy.
Earth + Water

If it is with earth, then perhaps they thoroughly enjoy nurturing a plant or life in general. When I think of earth and water, I picture the maternal archetype. The men out there who may be reading this who connect to earth and water can imagine being a loving father or fatherly figure. Those associated with air tend to be the type to love traveling and are often the most social. Those associated with air and fire are usually the ones most likely on the go most frequently. One would imagine they are most often prone to having more of an ego - likely the most masculine with males. Fire and air are the masculine elements as earth and water are the feminine energies. Typically, someone associated with air and fire are likely the most easily invigorated.
Air + Fire

Those associated with air and water can vary in temperament. They can often be open and easygoing, yet they can also be uptight and pragmatic. They are generally caring and often outgoing and social. Probably the most complicated of them all are people of earth and fire energies, like me. Those associated with earth can generally be moody and that combined with fire can even make for moments of brooding hostility. Like a volcano, our tempers can be explosive. However, not everyone associated with the fire element has a bad temper. Not everyone associated with the water element is chilled and easygoing.  Those of earth and fire energies can also carry immense pain for a long period of time.
Air + Water

We are also generally very warm and affectionate. We have moments where we close off and become rigid, but we come around. We are also often known for tenacity and very strong-willed. Much of this is a generalization. I do not intend to create stereotypes or pigeonhole anyone into certain categories. This just gives you a general understanding of these energies and to help figure yourself out.

Life Forces

This might at first sound cliche', but we are all familiar with the four elements of life. Our element does not depend on what our zodiac sign is. Another thing is that we are not each only connected to one element. We are actually two. However, they are not opposites like fire and water and earth and air. We are each of fire and earth, earth and water, air and water, and air and fire. Mine is earth and fire. Those are the two energies I am connected deeply to in nature. I have made it thoroughly clear of my deep connection and sensitivity to the earth. I am just as sensitive to fire as I am to earth. Yesterday morning I woke up and smelled smoke from a fire burning in someone's fireplace and it was so energizing.

I even felt the heat from a neighbor's heat lamp on their deck as I was walking down the street. Whenever I'm cold, all I need is a single flame of a burning candle. I hold my hand over it long enough and I'm immediately warmed and energize. Perhaps that is what I need the next time I'm fatigued. Earth and fire combined is what composes of the most powerful tectonic forces. You get volcanoes and molten rock as well as geothermal activity(not to mention diamonds and other precious stones created by immense heat and pressure from deep in the crust). Earthquakes are even made of intense heat with their friction.
Earth and water gives you plant life, salt, caves, mud, crystals, and life forms. Air and water are the forces that make up our atmosphere and weather phenomena. It is what clouds are made of. With air and fire, you have lightning, electrical storms, fire-nadoes, hot air, plasma, etc. I don't think I know anyone who ever thinks about these things. How would they know what their energies are? I believe that it is important to know for it helps us all plug in more to nature. It took me a while to figure this out. A decade ago, I used to believe that someone was to be associated with just one element. It took me about 7 years to realize that we are really two energies even.
My next post will discuss how we figure out which energies we are and how to connect to them deeply.

With an open mind

Unlike my other two blogs, this will entail much more than earthquakes. I will be discussing spiritual phenomena and cultural beliefs related to such as well as natural events. I will also be covering how we connect to nature in different ways. While it is important for us to have a good understanding of the science behind certain events, it is also important to connect to spirit. We can learn from what others did in the distant past and how some cultures in parts of the world still practice that lifestyle and wellbeing to this day.
A perfect example would be from the Boxing Day earthquake and tsunami in 2004. Local villagers living along the coast left in time before the destructive waves came in, wiping out everything in its path. They knew what was coming while the tourists were completely caught off guard. I also must add that this is by no means victim blaming. We cannot fault people for simply not knowing. This is a way to save lives. Every single one of us is capable of reaching that level. Non-human animals have been known to sense impending danger. It is time to tap back into our roots.

Introduction

I tried other blogging platforms, but it turns out that this site is not dead after all. It looks like I'm going to have to now have the courage to include this subject matter on here. Many people do not want to hear a bunch of airy-fairy spiritual stuff when it comes to earthquakes. I am aware that even though there are a lot of people who may not be open to this approach, I am also aware that there are also a lot of people who would be open and wouldn't immediately reject what I have been needing to share for years now.
If people think I'm insane and should be thrown away, then so be it. I'm not going to let skeptics tell me what I should and should not be putting out there. I am very respectful to scientists. Never had I once question what they stand by. I am just going to introduce a different perspective, a different approach to this. The scientific data is not wrong. This is just another way to be more in tuned with nature and to not ignore our gut feeling or instincts. It is something to rely on. This is not anything cliche' either.
It is a real thing. I also meant to mention that this blog is going to entail more than just earthquakes.
