Connecting to your energies

I want to make it known that this is not hippy-dippy bullshit. I'm a very down-to-earth person, so this is not nonsense. It is very true. Just over 10 years ago, I discovered I had a deep connection with the earth. Before I realized we are really of two elemental energies, I became very rigid and was frequently stuck in these ruts. It took me 7 years to figure it out. In 2010, I took Qigong classes. I learned about chi energy. It has been a long time since I practiced those exercises. I know that I should start learning those again.

You can determine which energies you are by holding your hand above a source such as a rock, crystal, flame, smoldering coals, a plant, a bowl of water, ice, the wind, a vent, a fan, etc. See if you can feel an intense force of energy course through you. Which makes you feel most alive? What do you feel in sync with? You can get yourself to the point of slightly manipulating a small source. It is extremely subtle though. That story about the man who can ignite fires with his chi is likely a myth. It would be dangerous if we had a more significant amount of control over an elemental energy.

I did something with a crystal and a small rock. I held my finger towards it by about an inch and ever so slowly made it touch the tip of my finger with my chi. I don't move my hand at all. I can even make a video to show you that this exists, but I'm not going to show off. I practiced it with a burning candle. I held my hand close to the flame and slightly moved my hand and the flame leaned in the direction of my hand as I slowly moved it around the candle. When I hold both my hands on each side of the flame, the flame either moves more erratically and dribbles or slightly shakes.

The flame is slightly taller and stiller as I hold the palm of my hand well above it. Be careful with this experiment because you could end up burning your hand. I also use that small source of immense heat to warm up my core temperature. People who are connected to water may be able to absorb moisture more quickly and cool down fast(drinking water and other fluids except alcohol is known to cool us down). Perhaps they can place their finger next to a droplet of water and get it to touch their flesh. If they put their hand in an ice chest, ice and droplets could stick and run its way up their fingers. Of course, don't have your hand in the ice for too long. You can also practice that with snow depending on where you are and what time of the year it is.

One who is connected to air can stand near a fan or an open window and have a small waft of air blow around them. They can also have their hands and arms in front of a fan or other source blowing air and can guide it in an intended direction or around them. I imagine they are excellent at deep breathing and blowing at bigger distances, thus perhaps holding their breath the longest. If you figure out where your sources of energy are and practice this and don't see results right away, don't be discouraged. You just have to connect more thoroughly.

Finding out your energies

Earth + Fire
It does not take a years-long journey to determine with 2 elements you connect to the strongest. Think of a natural force that gives you an intense energetic charge. What excites you? What is out there that you find yourself particularly sensitive to? Most surfers for example get their energetic charge from the water, especially powerful waves churning up in the ocean, propagating towards the shore. For those who find that they have a deep connection to water, they can then determine whether their other energy source is air or earth. If it is air, the individual is excited and energized by weather events and is usually fond of snow. However, there are those who prefer warm weather and a breeze by the seaside gives them a great sense of joy.
Earth + Water

If it is with earth, then perhaps they thoroughly enjoy nurturing a plant or life in general. When I think of earth and water, I picture the maternal archetype. The men out there who may be reading this who connect to earth and water can imagine being a loving father or fatherly figure. Those associated with air tend to be the type to love traveling and are often the most social. Those associated with air and fire are usually the ones most likely on the go most frequently. One would imagine they are most often prone to having more of an ego - likely the most masculine with males. Fire and air are the masculine elements as earth and water are the feminine energies. Typically, someone associated with air and fire are likely the most easily invigorated.
Air + Fire

Those associated with air and water can vary in temperament. They can often be open and easygoing, yet they can also be uptight and pragmatic. They are generally caring and often outgoing and social. Probably the most complicated of them all are people of earth and fire energies, like me. Those associated with earth can generally be moody and that combined with fire can even make for moments of brooding hostility. Like a volcano, our tempers can be explosive. However, not everyone associated with the fire element has a bad temper. Not everyone associated with the water element is chilled and easygoing.  Those of earth and fire energies can also carry immense pain for a long period of time.
Air + Water

We are also generally very warm and affectionate. We have moments where we close off and become rigid, but we come around. We are also often known for tenacity and very strong-willed. Much of this is a generalization. I do not intend to create stereotypes or pigeonhole anyone into certain categories. This just gives you a general understanding of these energies and to help figure yourself out.

Life Forces

This might at first sound cliche', but we are all familiar with the four elements of life. Our element does not depend on what our zodiac sign is. Another thing is that we are not each only connected to one element. We are actually two. However, they are not opposites like fire and water and earth and air. We are each of fire and earth, earth and water, air and water, and air and fire. Mine is earth and fire. Those are the two energies I am connected deeply to in nature. I have made it thoroughly clear of my deep connection and sensitivity to the earth. I am just as sensitive to fire as I am to earth. Yesterday morning I woke up and smelled smoke from a fire burning in someone's fireplace and it was so energizing.

I even felt the heat from a neighbor's heat lamp on their deck as I was walking down the street. Whenever I'm cold, all I need is a single flame of a burning candle. I hold my hand over it long enough and I'm immediately warmed and energize. Perhaps that is what I need the next time I'm fatigued. Earth and fire combined is what composes of the most powerful tectonic forces. You get volcanoes and molten rock as well as geothermal activity(not to mention diamonds and other precious stones created by immense heat and pressure from deep in the crust). Earthquakes are even made of intense heat with their friction.
Earth and water gives you plant life, salt, caves, mud, crystals, and life forms. Air and water are the forces that make up our atmosphere and weather phenomena. It is what clouds are made of. With air and fire, you have lightning, electrical storms, fire-nadoes, hot air, plasma, etc. I don't think I know anyone who ever thinks about these things. How would they know what their energies are? I believe that it is important to know for it helps us all plug in more to nature. It took me a while to figure this out. A decade ago, I used to believe that someone was to be associated with just one element. It took me about 7 years to realize that we are really two energies even.
My next post will discuss how we figure out which energies we are and how to connect to them deeply.

With an open mind

Unlike my other two blogs, this will entail much more than earthquakes. I will be discussing spiritual phenomena and cultural beliefs related to such as well as natural events. I will also be covering how we connect to nature in different ways. While it is important for us to have a good understanding of the science behind certain events, it is also important to connect to spirit. We can learn from what others did in the distant past and how some cultures in parts of the world still practice that lifestyle and wellbeing to this day.
A perfect example would be from the Boxing Day earthquake and tsunami in 2004. Local villagers living along the coast left in time before the destructive waves came in, wiping out everything in its path. They knew what was coming while the tourists were completely caught off guard. I also must add that this is by no means victim blaming. We cannot fault people for simply not knowing. This is a way to save lives. Every single one of us is capable of reaching that level. Non-human animals have been known to sense impending danger. It is time to tap back into our roots.

Introduction

I tried other blogging platforms, but it turns out that this site is not dead after all. It looks like I'm going to have to now have the courage to include this subject matter on here. Many people do not want to hear a bunch of airy-fairy spiritual stuff when it comes to earthquakes. I am aware that even though there are a lot of people who may not be open to this approach, I am also aware that there are also a lot of people who would be open and wouldn't immediately reject what I have been needing to share for years now.
If people think I'm insane and should be thrown away, then so be it. I'm not going to let skeptics tell me what I should and should not be putting out there. I am very respectful to scientists. Never had I once question what they stand by. I am just going to introduce a different perspective, a different approach to this. The scientific data is not wrong. This is just another way to be more in tuned with nature and to not ignore our gut feeling or instincts. It is something to rely on. This is not anything cliche' either.
It is a real thing. I also meant to mention that this blog is going to entail more than just earthquakes.
